My child does not enjoy reading and gets frustrated when asked to do so. Getting him/her to read is impossible.

My child has been identified with a low fluency and / or comprehension rate.

My child does very poorly on spelling tests, even when we study and attempt to prepare.

All learning in school rests on the fundamental skill of reading. Reading is the foundation for all learning, in all subjects. When this foundation is weak or underdeveloped, your child may struggle with reading and overall academic achievement.

By 4th grade, reading instruction at school stops as students transition from learning to read to reading for gaining knowledge and information. Reading must be mastered by 4th grade, or serious academic consequences can occur. If your child is a poor reader, I can help.

One-on-one reading instruction is critical for improving reading skills. I work to isolate the skill(s) most needed for improvement and then I generate a plan of action specifically for your child's needs.
